Games I NEED
Assassin’s Creed – PC/Xbox360

Created by the same team who brought us ‘Prince of Persia: Sands of Time’, this game has an extra appealing element that drew me to it straight away. It was Sands of Time crossed over with Hitman! I’ve been a huge fan of the Hitman series, and I adore Sands of Time, so to have the promise of something like this on the horizon is very exciting indeed.
Bioshock – PC/Xbox360

This game looks amazing. I watched a short video where one of the producers of the game took us on a little tour through the world. The atmosphere and gameplay are fantastic. It’s the kind of game I could really lose myself in for a while. It’s been a long time since a first person shooter, in my opinion, broke out of the whole “run! shoot! blast everything in site!!” mould. I know a few people have been put off by the games theme, but I for one really like it.
Games I want to try
Warhammer: Mark of Chaos – PC

A strategy game. I’ve never been keen at all on these games in the past. Watched others play them and so on. But I checked out some screens and wasn’t really impressed until I watched the videos. The ability to pan in and out and move around the field while you set your characters to do battle with the enemy is awesome. Because it is a strategy game however, I’m still not sure if it’ll click with me. But I’ve seen enough to want to give it a try.
Dark Messiah of Might and Magic – PC

It appears to be a game where you can switch between third or first person views. It reminds me a lot of Oblivion, yet somehow looks better. It’s an RPG, so I’m assuming there’s a story/plot to the game. It’s intrigued me, as it could be a fun game to try out. Nothing about it makes me want to drop everything to purchase it, but if it’s selling cheap, I’ll probably grab it.
In other news:
World of Warcraft cocked up the male Blood Elves appearance (orignal blood-elf below)

I’m disappointed by it, to say the least. Shari said he looks like a Night Elf with pink skin tones. Apparently the change happened because players raised concerns over the male Blood Elves looking too ‘feminine’. People have different tastes and everyone is entitled to their opinions. I can respect that. But there are more than enough beefed up races in WoW as it is. What’s wrong with having a little diversity? Blood Elves lore describes them as being dependent on magic and they tap into ‘ambient mystical energies’. They’re not physical creatures, which is why, originally, they weren’t beefed up. I was really looking forward to trying out this expansion, returning to WoW, but my comrades have been put off by this change unfortunately. Can’t blame them really. Darn you Blizzard! *shakes fist*
The Curse of MMO’s
Published by Fehed October 10th, 2006
I’ve been pondering going back to Dungeons & Dragons Online recently. I’ve barely even scratched the surface of the Guildwars: Factions since I got it, and I only played DDO for a month before I stopped. But something about that game kept tempting me to go back. I only really stopped because I just didn’t have the time, and when I did have time to spare, I just didn’t feel like wasting it on the game.
It’s a bit different to most MMORPG’s, rule-wise as well as game-play style. It has a few extra things thrown in which confused me. It’s not someting that’d be that hard to get used to or to understand, I just didn’t bother at the time because I was really only testing out the game. I only got it because it was cheap, £14 at the time. Which is kind of a bargain compared to the other £30 to £40 games out there.
Hmmm maybe I’ll give it another shot. If I don’t play it often during the month, I can just cancel the subscription again. I never gave it enough of a chance yet. I did enjoy the game, I really like how you can play it, it’s not just point and click, there’s some tactics involved in the way you fight the mobs. as well as puzzles to solve in some quests. I’d like to see where it all leads. I’m just not sure I can do it alone. Which means *gasp* I may have to actually socialise in game and make new gaming-buddies to party with… scary!
Oh. My. God.

There’s a Stargate MMO in production for the Xbox 360!!! O_O excuse me while I squee like a little fangirl with utter excitement.
For those who are interested, some details and a couple of screenshots with concept art can be found here.
I’m a huge fan of both the movie and the TV series. I never thought something like this would ever happen, took me totally by surprise. The idea of playing through all the Stargate worlds in the form of an MMO has me wanting an Xbox 360 now more than ever. But, the game is still in its VERY early stages of development and I can wait to see how it shapes up first. Hopefully by the time it comes out and it meets my expectations, I can actually afford a 360 (and its price may have gone down a bit).
This is so awesome T^T

Released in 2004… and I only JUST found out *smacks head* I did a search on iTunes ‘cos I thought “it’s been a while since they released an album.” and came across it.
Well, better late than never.
New Album by John Mayer
Published by Fehed September 26th, 2006
Just found out that John Mayer has a new album out. Seems to be available in the states only currently, but managed to nab his album via iTunes, thanks to Shari setting up a US account. Can’t seem to get anything but ‘Room for Squares’ here in the UK, which was his first official release. This will be the second album by him that I’ve heard now.
Heard a few of the tracks off it from his official site, and it’s very different from his first album. Both Shari and I agree that it sounds more mature. It’s not as happy sounding as his first album, but that’s not really a bad thing. I can’t honestly say that you can compare either album to each other, as each album has a set direction. I haven’t had a chance to hear this album fully yet, but from the tracks I have heard, it feels like he’s taken a step back away from himself to get a good clear view of things on the outside and decided to write about the world around him, while the first album was more of an inward journey, into his ideas of love and romance. I’m kind of intrigued to try to grab some of his other work in between to see the progression. Seems he’s got 4 albums out altogether, this being the latest one.
I like his work and after reading his blog on his site, I like how he comes across. He’s quite down to earth and doesn’t take himself too seriously.
ps. Shari likes his hair <3
