Something worth saying?
Published by Fehed 2 years, 4 months agoSometimes I wish I had more to say on this site. Shari doesn’t post often because she’s busy working on projects, but also, lately, when she does have something to say, it’s too private to be posted on this site, which is totally understandable. Some things are just not for the general public. It’s not often we have anything worth saying really. We’re generally very quiet people.
I don’t read many blogs online anymore (Shari reads too many, oh ho ho ho). I normally just stick to my LJ Friends list and the occasional news feed. One blog I do frequently check is BinaryBonsai.com, pointed out to me by Shari. I have a lot of respect towards the author, Michael Heilemann, and I really enjoy the way he writes and the discussions he brings up. I kind of hope his tact might rub off on me.
totally off-subject, it’s funny, but no matter how hard you try to not act like a fan-boy in anyway, it just doesn’t work. I can’t find the comment now, but I distinctly remember leaving a comment on that site where I was trying to debate something Michael had written, but just ended up not really bringing my point across too well because it sounded more like babbling by the time I finished. I think I tried to salvage it by replying to another comment, but I felt I just dug a deeper hole.
I did a similar thing when I was at London Expo a couple of years back, waiting in line to get Andy Serkis to autograph a photo for Shari. I stood there watching everyone else get all excited once they started talking to him and I was just thinking - When it’s your turn, don’t do or say anything stupid! Just get in there, say hello, shake him by the hand, ask him to sign the photo, compliment him a little, then leave. Got it? Good.
But is that what happened? Did I keep my cool? Fuck no! Cue speedy babbling of words:
Fehed: Hi, nice to finally meet you. *shakes hand* I really enjoyed your work. I especially liked your role in the british movie Deathwatch *this was me trying to look smart by showing that I knew him from more than just Lord of the Rings*
Andy: Oh, thanks very much.
Fehed: I’m actually here mainly on behalf of my friend in thailand, she’s a big fan, especially of your work in Lord of the Rings, you know, I should really hate you actually - *omg I didn’t just say that did I?*
Andy: *nod nod*
Fehed: cos she’s watched those movies like a million times, it drove me crazy! she can’t make it all the way here obviously, cos she lives in thailand *argh!! shutup already!!*, but yeah, I’d like you to sign this for her, thanks.
Andy: What’s her name?
Fehed: Shari.
Andy: *actually spoke as he signed* Hey there Shari, all the best, Andy Serkis.
Fehed: Thank you very much *shakes hand* keep up the great work *… I’m a dork*
It was really much worse than this because of the way I acted. My body language and facial expressions… geez, I got really theatrical, for lack of a better word. Did you notice how I did all the talking there?

Poor Fwed. The brain and the mouth were temporarily disconnected. The little voice is screaming for you to stop, but the mouth is having way too much fun embaressing you.
