I’m such a wordpress junkie, no, I didnt code my own plugin or anything :D but I finally figured out how to have main index page and separated blog page without using any plugin or something too messy.

the problem was that fred wanted the index page to be clean, but I wanted a full blown blog page, you know, with lots of nonsense shitty links on the side and lots and lots of fun-but-useless plugin installed.

so, the trick is to create one category (in my case ‘blog’) and have every other category under it, that’s all, you dont even have to post in that main category, since the category page will also display posts from its child categories, very nifty. after that, all you have to do is create template for blog category to mimic the normal index blog page, and there you go :D
